Things to do in Bali (3)

Sunset at Tanah Lot

Tanah Lot, probably the well-known and most photographed temple in Bali, is closely associated with the legendary pries Niratha. Legend says that as he passed by and was impressed by the tiny island's superb setting and suggeted to locals that it would be a good place to build a temple.

Tanah means earth in English while Lot means sea.

The temple symbolizes the meeting point of natural and cosmic elements.

Tanah Lot is also famous for its magnificent sunsets. Every dusk tourist flock to witness the fantastic starkly outlined temple against the glowing horizon.

The best view is from the cliff overlooking the temple.

At the entrance, there are also a lot stalls selling souvenir to the visitors. All the souvenirs here are relatively cheap across Bali. So it is advisable for to get there a little bit early before the dusk to do some shopping because after the sunset you might not get the satisfaction of shopping as the most of the stall are closed.
